Bodybuilding as a sport goes way back in 12th century India, where the first training techniques and bodybuilding nutrition were invented. The 1920s saw the club as a sport more popular and very profitable industry. Muscular celebrities like Charles Atlas came to the New Spotlight, adding more to the fury together during gym. Commercially manufactured dumbbells and barbells were selling like hotcakes around the world while new developments in exercise equipment, diet plans, strategies and weight are increasing in volume each year.
The golden age bodybuilding's happened around the 1940s to the 1970s. This was the era of muscle beaches, movie franchises like Hercules and Tarzan that featured bodybuilders-turned-actor, and bodybuilding legends like Joe Gold, Harold Zinkin, and two-time Mr. America John Grimek. During this time the club was officially separated of weightlifting. Its basic ideology was finally solidified and its goals in health, strength, fitness and capacity muscular aesthetic.
From 1966 to today, the latest breed of professional builders led by the charismatic Arnold Schwarzenegger promoted the sport to new heights.
